Lviv Polytechnic National University is the oldest technical educational institution of Ukraine one of the oldest technical schools in Eastern Europe. Recently the University has selebrated its 200th Anniversary. The University traces its roots from the Imperial-Royal Real School in Lviv founded in 1816 that soon became a well-known scientific, intellectual and educational centre.
For three centuries of its development the University has been an integral part of European technical science, gained high reputation for training high-quality engineers, designers and scientists.
Today Lviv Polytechnic National University comprises 16 academic institutes, as well as the Institute of Distance Education and the International Institute of Education, Culture and Relations with Diaspora. At present the University trains more than 35 thousand students.
Improvement of education and research effectiveness, fruitful cooperation with international centres and foundations, formation of innovation infrastructure are the main priorities of Lviv Polytechnic, which ensure its reputation and recognition at present and guarantee its prestige for the future.
The Conference will be held in the main University building, built in 1877 in the style of late Renaissance, which is a real gem of Lviv architecture. The attic with a sculptural composition by Leonard Marconi crowns the building. The main hall is decorated with the series of paintings “Triumth of Progress” made by the famous polish painter Jan Matejko.
